1. What data do we collect?

Members: We retain information in our database which you provided on registration with us. You can ask for this to be deleted at any time. We do not use cookies on our website. We hold copies of your requests of property details from agents for a reasonable period. This is in order that we can follow up enquiries for you if necessary. Some information, such as any payment details are retained for accounting purposes for as long as UK tax legislation requires.

Advertisers: We only hold the information which you provide to us, with the intention of marketing your property or properties or for our accounting purposes. This includes your contact details and property information. Once you withdraw your business(es) we shall remove your details from our database.

Members: We only pass on your details to those agents from which you request further property information. We also pass on any other message you have typed on the enquiry form to them. We do not have control over what third parties then do with this information. This also applies to those other external suppliers which you may contact via our site (e.g. from our links page or other advertisers).

We use other information you provided on registration to help improve our service for you and to monitor trends in our member's requirements from the site. e.g. If we ask you where you heard about us, we use this information to target our advertising campaigns better. If we ask you why you are looking to buy a hotel or B&B we use this information in a general way to collate statistics about our members. This may help in our marketing or design of the site.

We may contact you occasionally to tell you about our own websites, subsription offers or other supplier/agent services. You can opt out of this at any time by contacting us.

Advertisers: We use your details to process your advertisement and to display it on our site, as requested. You can choose to provide as little or much detail as you wish. We retain some information for accounting purposes for as long as we are required to do by UK law.

Members & Advertisers: We do not sell, trade or rent your details to anyone other than the owners of www.hotelstobuy.co.uk or the parent business www.businesstobuy.co.uk which also owns www.restaurantstobuy.co.uk and www.swbusinesstobuy.co.uk

We take all reasonable steps to protect the security of the data we hold for you on our database and other office files. We do not handle payments by credit or debit card as these are taken care of by Paypal or Google Checkout which are trusted payment processors.
