Introduction
The Castle Steps Hotel consists of sixty rooms and suites plus a restaurant. It is located in the heart of the historical centre of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. We are in all the major guide books, and have been featured on American television(the Discovery Channel) and in national newspapers and magazines including the Daily Telegraph and the Guardian. Our guests have included world famous people such as Art Garfunkel and his family and the broadcaster Marc Riley.
Each of our rooms and suites is uniquely furnished with original oil paintings, plants and antique furniture. The rooms have wi-fi, telephones and LCD satellite televisions. There are two Internet cafes, one in the restaurant and another next to the main office.
Most of the key staff are native English speakers who have been extensively trained in customer service: they can handle requests in 19 languages. We can take calls 24 hours a day through a network of international toll-free numbers.
The Area
We are between Prague Castle and Charles Bridge. The buildings are several hundred years old.
The Price
The sale price is 350,000 EUR, which is approximately £290,000. Note that this is the price for the hotel business including all the antique furniture, the computer systems, the beds, the other furniture, the good-will of the hotel, the fact that it is listed in guide-books, the PageRank of the website, etc. It does *not* include the five buildings, which are leased. They would cost about 15,000,000 GBP.
Letting Rooms
There are sixty rooms and suites.
The Number of Owner Bedrooms
The new owner could choose a suite in the hotel. Alternatively, he or she could take over my luxury apartment, which is five minutes’ walk away and has views over the river.
Competition / Market
There is plenty of competition, but very little if any is up to our standards. We are the only hotel in the country with entirely UK/US customer service people and the ability to process emails in so many languages.
Turnover
Approximately £800,000 per year.
Support & training
The buyer will be given extensive training and support.
